She did well thru surgery. The doctor did say that the right side of her thyroid was unusually small but the left was unusually large. It was between the size of a quarter and a half dollar. The surgery was around 3 1/2 hours.
When we saw her she was in a lot of pain. She had some great nurses though - at least they made us laugh! She is still experiencing pain at times, but is able to rest comfortable too. She just finished some chicken broth- one of her favorite hospital foods that she used to call 'nee-no oop" We still tease her.
We will find out in a couple of days what the pathology is and then go from there.

Mariah, I'm glad that everything went well. I'm sure that you won't be feeling up to your old self for a while, but I know you'll get better every day. I said lots of prayers for you today and I'l continue every day as you recover.

Hey Mariah....I am so glad you are eating chicken soup! That's great! You have been in my thoughts all day long and I'm glad it's over. Now just get all well and get back home soon!
